"Fear Not", Built in 1976 -Campbeltown Shipyard Ltd.

In one picture… the men and women who filled Campbeltown Loch with Success

A MOTLEY BUNCH of workers from the most unlikely of backgrounds have created a success story on the shores of Campbeltown Loch. They are former miners, general handymen, tradesmen and housewives without any tradition of shipbuilding.

We are grateful to Leslie Howarth for this cutting of an article written by Alan Wallace and published by the Evening Times on 30th September, 1976.  The boat pictured in the photograph, by Jim Millar, is the Fear Not INS 197 (Yard No. 33) built in 1976 for J. McKenzie & Partners, Elgin. There is another entry here on the archive which names almost all of the people in the photograph.
