This is an article which was published in the Campbeltown Courier and is about the Campbeltown Shipyard’s 50th order. Mr Howarth recalled that when the yard at Trench Point opened in 1969 it provided work for 22 people. “Now it employs 150 and plays a major role in the economy of the area for which credit is due to the support of the Highlands and Islands Development Board”.
