We are grateful to Bobby Wylie, formerly of Campbeltown Shipyard, for this collection of photos which gives us an insight into working life at the yard. Some of the photos show the Defiant LK 371 (Yard No. 79) nearing completion so the photos must have been taken during 1987. The boat that followed the Defiant was the Wave Sheaf LK 134 (Yard No. 80) so this must have been her under construction and/or possibly the Maggie M MBE LH 170 (Yard No. 81).

Hi,
I remember all the above. Young pup “Installation and Commissioning Engineer” with Dauntless Marine Engineering. We had Defiant, Wavesheaf and later on the Alison Kay. I got my hand pulled into the rope reels on Defiant. Not good. Big drama. Local hospital. Then Glasgow by ambulance. But i was back for Wavesheaf and Alison Kay. We were really busy back then. Dauntless closed years ago. I went offshore. Still keep my hands away from rotating equipment????????
