We are very grateful to Darren Purves, from the Isle of Man, for these very recent photos of two veteran Campbeltown-built boats: Peter M PL 25, built as Steadfast LH 90 (Yard No. 4) in 1970 and Chelaris MT 23 which was built as Jacquelyn Stuart LH 159 (yard No. 8) in 1971. It’s great so see that these two, amongst the first built at Trench Point, are still very much on the go! You can read more about the history of the Steadfast/Peter M here thanks to Darren. You can also read a short article about Steadfast here.
Shaun Humphrys, from Maryport, now owns and skippers the Chelaris – she was built as Jacquline Stuart LH 159 (Yard No. 8) and is based in Maryport, in the North West of England. She fishes mainly around the Irish Sea and Isle of Man for scallops, queenies, fish and prawns.

I owned the Chelaris for two years in Shetland, made me quite a bit of money, nice to see her still going strong under the command of Shaun.
