Following on from a piece written by Billy McLean, of Campbeltown, a former plater with Campbeltown Shipyard, we are adding a collection of his photographs which show two outreach projects where men from the Campbeltown yard were contracted out to work helping out in other yards, firstly at the Malakoff Yard in Shetland and then Buckie Shipyard, now MacDuff Shipyard. The third batch of photos were taken in the Friesian Shipyard in Holland where a number of Campbeltown Shipyard workers found work after being employed locally at the yard. The photos were taken in the 1990’s.
Billy thinks that some of the photos may have been taken by Dan Galbraith.
