We are grateful to Bob Anderson and his son, Scott, for sending these photos of a fully functioning model of a Campbeltown-built fishing boat. Scott made the model of the Advance II INS 77 which was built at Campbeltown Shipyard as the Brereton INS 197 (Yard No. 078) in 1987 for T. Martin and Partners of Lossiemouth. She is still fishing as the Ardent INS 127 which pairs with the Arcturus INS 167 (built in 1984 at Campbeltown Shipyard as the Karen Anne INS 61 – Yard No. 068).
You can view other photos of Bob Anderson’s models here (Aquarius) and here (Premier/Kestrel).
The wooden boat model in the photos is the Strathyre INS.65, which was built in 1958 at Herd and Mackenzie, Peterhead, for Alec Souter, Lossiemouth. She is now lying wrecked at Lower Diabaig, Loch Torridon.
