FIDELIS TAKES TO THE SEA and A “dressed over-all” Fidelis II – an article and a photograph from the Campbeltown Courier, both published on 3rd March, 1978 (Courtesy of Campbeltown Library). The article is about the launch of Fidelis II FR 319 (Yard No. 39) which was built at Campbeltown Shipyard for Skipper Stewart Buchan & Partners of Fraserburgh. She was launched on 25th February, 1978 by Stewart’s 12 year old daughter, Jean. The article is also mentions two young, local pipers, John Lang Brown and Ian McCallum who were employees at the shipyard.
