We are very grateful to Bobby Wylie, formerly of Campbeltown Shipyard, for another excellent collection of photos, this time of the Wave Sheaf LK 134 (Yard No. 80) built for Thomas Goodlad of Hanavoe, Shetland, in Campbeltown in 1987. We will shortly be adding a recent collection of photos of the Wave Sheaf as she is today, now renamed Helenus FR 121.

  1. Absolutely cracking pictures which have brought back some serious memories…. I was the Dauntless Marine Engineering guy for all installation, commissioning, sea trials and support during first few trips. And i was 20years old ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. Now i work in Oil Industry and wish i was back in the glory days at Dauntless.3 boats back to back at Campbeltown, one in Truro one in Ainster and one in Birkenhead ๐Ÿ˜‚.

  2. I made, connected and wired up all the winch control panels. Big job back in the day. The Auto trawl was by a company from Nairn but never really worked as designed. Years later I worked for a Drilling Contracter in Aberdeen and one day we had โ€œnew boyโ€ from the very same Nairn base company. He was Tech Coordinator for years after that. Small world indeed. I have many photos from Campbeltown Shipyard and will try and get them scanned.
